Delivery

Our dedicated team of delivery experts across the United Kingdom are committed to making your shipping requirements more efficient and secure so you can enjoy your Maker&Son furniture sooner. Our customers trust us to ship their sofa, armchair, bed or even a single cushion across the country quickly, smoothly and in the safest way.

We offer a premium service and provide you with the most dedicated experience for shipping your valuable goods. Your new furniture will be unwrapped and expertly assembled in the room of your choice. Our delivery team will even take the packaging away with them for recycling when we leave. We have a standard delivery fee to the Mainland UK £200. If you are outside of this area please call our friendly team for a more accurate delivery fee.

Care Guide

Keeping it Clean

Designed for low-maintence, most of our loose covers are also machine-washable and regular cleaning with a soft brush, or even a light vacuum, will keep them looking fresh. For more serious stains, and delicate fabrics like velvet, please consult a professional upholstery cleaning service.

General use

The arms of your sofa aren’t designed to carry an adult’s body weight, so please aviod sitting on them. Further, avoid sitting on the edge of your seat as it can weaken the front edge of the spring unit. Be careful with sharp objects like belt buckles, toys or rings that can tear your fabric.

Environment

Be aware that sunlight can fade the colour of your furniture’s fabric. Keeping your sofa against a radiator may also have the same effect, so allow for a bit of space between them. It’s important to move your cushions around and plump them to ensure their shape and volume is maintained.

Every fabric in our collection has its own unique qualities and composition. Please refer to the label sewn onto your covers, or to specific fabric care guidelines. You will also find information about our fabrics on our website.

Cleaning Your Loose Covers

Our 100% Linen, Brushed Cotton and Corduroy covers are all machine washable. Our Velvets are dry clean/professional clean only. When it comes to cleaning your covers, please clean all of the covers at the same time; this will avoid any colour variation if cleaned separately.

Enjoy peace of mind with a 5-year Premium Product Protection Insurance Plan *included with your order to help extend the useful life of your furniture and reduce disruption to your home.

If your furniture is accidentally damaged, stained or faulty – this insurance will take care of repairing or replacing your furniture, at no extra cost to you.

WHAT’S COVERED?

Accidental stains including food, drinks, human and pet bodily fluids
Accidental damage including rips, tears, chips, burns
Malfunctions and defects including frame breakage or warping, metal bending or
mechanical defects (after the product warranty expires)
No excess or charge for repairs or replacements (up to the insured value of the
item)

WHAT’S NOT COVERED?

Damage in transit, normal wear and tear, deliberate harm

By adding this insurance to your basket you confirm that you are a UK resident over 18 years of age, that you understand that it is your responsibility to read and understand the IPID and Policy Wording, and that you have ensured that this product meets your needs.

Our Otter Range

A contemporary, formal look is the foundation of our new Otter range. Featuring a different construction to both Song and Marnie, the cushions are made with a border or sidewall to provide support and shape that gives a more boxy appearance. Both the Box Edge and Soft Edge styles are filled absolutely full of all the same natural comfort to be found in every one of our pieces.

Otter’s Box Edge style provides for a more traditional look with clean lines and simple symmetry, while the Soft Edge covers offer a calm and contemporary look.

You may have noticed that we like to name our furniture as a nod to those we love, and Otter is no exception. Alex’s middle son Otter – or Otti to us – doesn’t love all the fanfare at age 15, but if the range grows as fast as him, we won’t be able to keep up!

Linen/Cotton

Ideal for those seeking a relaxed, low-maintenance look, our Linen/Cotton blend is easy to clean, and less prone to wrinkling.

Brushed Cotton

Our clever Brushed Cotton is a blend of cotton (65%) and linen (35%) designed for households that need a robust yet comfortable solution to suit their lifestyles.

Our Skirt & Leg Options

Personalise your furniture to be an extension of your style with our bespoke skirt and leg options. Our elegant skirts come in two different lengths so that you can create a unique look to suit your scheme. We offer a shorter skirt for a more informal look that reveals both the sofa leg and flooring underneath. For those who love making an impact, there's our dramatic full-length skirt, with the fabric falling all the way to the floor. Maker&Son loves constantly evolving details and our range of furniture legs is no exception. From our classic Standard beech leg, to a new selection of beautifully crafted oak and walnut designs, there’s something unique for all. Original

Aesthetically beautiful and refined, the curved lines of our Original leg are handcrafted in beech.

double

This elegant turned-leg comes in either walnut or oak and strikes a note for those who love their furniture to make a statement.

bun

Characterful and generous, this bun leg is a fresh interpretation of a traditional shape that comes in either walnut or oak.

straight

A contemporary and streamlined leg that creates an elevated look for your furniture. Available in either walnut or oak.

castor

Our striking brass castor is a contemporary reinterpretation of a British classic leg and comes in either walnut or oak.

Our Fill Options

Plumped with ethically sourced feathers and down, our premium fillings offer a sink-in-deep feeling of being cocooned in comfort. All of our sofa cushions and seats contain the equivalent of two ‘duvets’ and feel as soft and cosy as any premium bedding. Encased between these ‘duvets’ sits a natural latex core. This supportive material offers shape and support, with the added bonus of being low-maintenance (in other words, less plumping) over time. Maker&Son also offers a vegan filling option made from 100% natural latex.

Feather & Down

Our feather and down fills provide the ultimate in deep-seated comfort. Brimming with 100% ethically sourced feathers and down, its natural softness feels like an enveloping ‘duvet’. Ideal for those who love sinking into their sofa.

Natural Foam

Next level family-friendly comfort and support. Our natural latex foam core provides the look and feel of a luxurious feather cushion, but with improved recovery. Ideal for those who prefer a 100% Vegan option.

Deposit Plan

Our Deposit Plan allows you to make partial payments, by placing an initial deposit of 50% of the total purchase price. Providing this deposit enables us to begin production, and enables you to begin planning for the arrival of your new furniture. From the date of deposit, you should expect delivery of standard furniture within 8 weeks, and bespoke furniture within 12 weeks.

If you opt for a 50% deposit, one week before delivery, our team will contact you to take the final balance of 50%. After this, our delivery partner will be in touch to arrange a suitable date.
If you opt to pay in full, there is nothing more for you to do except dream about your new furniture. Our delivery partner will be in touch one week before completion of production to arrange a suitable date. If you have any questions at all, please contact our friendly sales team.
