Now independently owned, our teams and our locations have evolved, yet we remain steadfast in our commitment to this dream. We are fortunate to run the business surrounded by a dedicated group of creative and forward-thinking people, who are all completely committed to delivering your perfect furniture.

 | Brad_BW - Maker&Son

Owner & Director, Bradley Coulson

Bradley’s passion for craftsmanship began early, growing up surrounded by a family of makers, artists, antique dealers, and furniture restorers – deep in the Northumberland countryside.

Bradley studied art, design, and sculpture, later earning a first-class honours degree in industrial design. He went on to spend over a decade as an innovation consultant, researching, designing, and developing sustainable products and services for both local businesses and global FMCG corporations. His work took him across Europe, with time spent in the Netherlands and Germany.

 

Having moved homes many times, Bradley developed a love for creating spaces that truly feel like home. This passion, combined with his deep respect for nature and sustainable craftsmanship, naturally led him to Maker&Son, where he now leads a team dedicated to creating ethical, luxurious furniture that is built to last.

 | Olivia - Maker&Son

Head of Product, Olivia Patman

With a blend of hands-on retail experience, product development, and buying for some of the best-known interior brands in the UK – Heals, Soho Home, House of Hackney, Linely, and The White Company – Olivia has developed a broad range of collections for the home.

 

Having returned to Maker&Son in 2024 as Head of Product, Olivia draws on her extensive experience working with suppliers and local craftspeople to develop new product concepts and furniture, as well as her expertise in ethical practices, supply chain management, and regenerative business models.

 | Sophie_BW - Maker&Son

Head of Marketing, Sophie Hamblyn

Born in Sussex, Sophie has worked for a number of founder-led British brands where she gained experience in luxury brand marketing, PR, content & communications, digital marketing, and e-commerce. A true ‘people person’ and self-confessed chatter-box, Sophie’s work in retail began at a young age alongside her studies in Art, Psychology, Interior Design, and her degree in Textile Design from Chelsea College of Art in London. 

 

Known as the company wordsmith, Sophie returned to Maker&Son in 2024 as Head of Marketing to support the brand with ambitious plans for the future.

 | Erinn_BW - Maker&Son

Brand Creative Lead, Erinn Metcalfe

Originally from Australia, Erinn has built a career around working exclusively with brands committed to responsible, ethical, and sustainable design. With over a decade of experience in product & textile design, marketing, and content for a number of reputable homeware and fashion brands, there aren’t many things Erinn isn’t involved in.

 

Imparting her creativity to help tell the story of the brand and support teams with everything from project coordination to fabric and packaging design – ensuring each project aligns with Maker&Son’s commitment to quality, sustainability, and timeless design. We can’t not mention ‘Zuma’ – Erinn’s Jack Russel, rescued from the streets of Hungary – who is always close by and loves to help ‘comfort-test’ our sofas!

 | Matt_BW - Maker&Son

Senior Sales Consultant, Matt Wilson

Matt, who first joined the brand at its inception and later returned in 2024, is our Senior Sales Consultant extraordinaire. There isn’t anything Matt doesn’t know about our products – from how they are made, to the individual materials that go into them and why they make the ultimate choice for your home.

 

Often behind the wheel of one of our Mobile Showrooms – Matt visits our customers up and down the country to bring them the experience of comfort at a place most convenient for them. We like to get the whole family involved at Maker&Son and Matt’s beautiful children are featured in some of our early photoshoots.

Senior Sales Consultant, Caroline Dale

The newest member of our Sales Team, Caroline joined us in 2024 and has hit the ground running in her role as Senior Sales Consultant. Passionate about interiors, Caroline is originally from Melbourne, Australia, and is a qualified Interior Designer, specialising in event and residential design. Having worked with a range of high-profile clients in Australia, Caroline is passionate about creating meaningful, thoughtful interiors for her clients and cares deeply about great design, high quality materials and traditional craftsmanship – making the perfect addition to the Maker&Son team.

 

Caroline has already been busy helping customers pick out and choose the best colours and fabrics for their individual home decor and lifestyle needs, making their dreams become a reality. An avid explorer and antique shop scourer – we are thrilled to welcome Caroline to the team at an exciting time for the future ahead.

Merchandiser & Production Manager, Louise Tucker

Responsible for overall production and operations, Louise is a master at spinning multiple plates and there isn’t anything she can’t do with a spreadsheet. A fantastic analytical thinker with more than a decade of experience working with a number of highstreet retail brands in the UK – Louise ensures everything is working efficiently across the business and crunches the numbers on some of our biggest decisions and ideas for the future. 

 

Juggling family life with a husband and two beautiful children, Louise loves to explore the outdoors in her spare time and is never quite ‘finished’ with her own renovations at home, being an enthusiast for interiors.

Customer Experience Executive, Emma Callister

Joining us from a career in finance managing, Emma brings her attention to detail to her work as our uber efficient Customer Experience Executive. Emma and looks after anything and everything to do with making our customer experience a great one. Have a query or issue with an order or delivery? No problem! Emma is here to make life easier for you.

 

Before the world of finance, Emma started out working for Jo Malone where she developed a healthy addiction to scented candles, later training as a gemologist and took up horse riding and learning French in recent years (she really comes into her own in a boulangerie!).

 | Mylo_BW - Maker&Son

Operations Manager, Mylo Kaye

Master of all our systems and processes, Mylo builds and manages the tech we need to keep on top of the everyday running of our business. A rare mix, Mylo also has an incredibly creative side and enjoys photography in his spare time having traveled extensively to all corners of the globe capturing moments along the way.

 

With an adorable miniature dachshund at home (who we hope to feature in our photography soon!) Mylo also volunteers locally with a charity that helps young people gain skills to employment.
