We are confident that we will transform your sleep, so we offer a 60-night no-quibble trial. Our sleep guarantee allows you to try our mattress for 60 nights before deciding. Then, if you don't agree that this is the most comfortable night's sleep, you have the option to return it. That's all there is to it.
At Maker & Son, we proudly make the most comfortable sofas in the world. But, when it comes to your sleep, we invest that same love and care into our bedding range.
Our natural beds are handcrafted using time-honoured techniques, representing the best in British manufacturing.
Because we spend a third of our lives sleeping, our craftsmen and women spend hours carefully hand sewing, side-stitching, and tufting each mattress.
Made entirely by hand, we have invested over two years in testing different combinations of luxurious comfort and spring technology to ensure you enjoy the sleep of your dreams.
Traceability and the provenance of materials are vital to us. We use organic hemp, cashmere, wool, cotton, and organically certified natural latex tapped from groves of sustainable rubber trees. Further, owners of natural latex mattresses have reported lifespans that typically range between 12 and 20 years, though some have even held up as long as 40 years or more.
Circular by design, our mattresses and toppers are all produced in the UK, which means fewer emissions from logistics and distribution. Furthermore, they are wrapped in an environmentally friendly eco-plastic to ensure the product is protected from dirt and moisture during transit. Each mattress is 100% recyclable at the end of its product life, so none of its materials end up in landfills.
Make your bedtime ritual as natural as possible. Embracing the "farm to bedroom" philosophy, you can sleep soundly knowing our mattress is chemical-free, foam-free, glue-free, and fully recyclable to ensure zero landfills. In addition, unlike some mattress brands that use synthetic memory foam, we use only natural materials so that you can sleep on top of a breathable bed.
Furthermore, unlike some mattress brands that employ synthetic memory foam, we exclusively use natural materials, including latex, so you can sleep on a breathable bed.
Natural latex is hypoallergenic and requires little upkeep. Latex is also naturally antibacterial, repelling harmful microbes, making it a good solution for people who suffer from allergies all year.
We also love natural latex for its pain-relieving mild cushioning and buoyant support that are especially good for sleepers with back and joint problems.
Our premium mattress has several layers that work in unison to provide performance and comfort. For example, underneath our handwoven wool ticking are 15 layers of premium 100% natural fillings, including Egyptian cotton, British wool, mohair, and silk. Their comforting qualities are further enhanced by the 16,000 cleverly pocketed springs that provide you with ultimate support. Steel springs, required for support, are cushioned and protected by this cotton/wool/hemp blend, ensuring that they last longer.
Designed to make you comfortable all year round, our natural mattress and topper work in perfect harmony and offer a choice of summer and winter sides. The summer "side" features linen as the top layer to keep you cool during the hotter months. Turn the mattress over to the "winter side" when the temperature drops and enjoy the top layer of cosy cashmere.
We take pride in the quality and durability of our products at Maker&Son. We understand that our consumers value reliability and peace of mind. That's why, when you buy a new mattress from our collection, you get a full 5-year manufacturer's guarantee. Furthermore, we go to extra lengths to ensure that every customer has a good night's sleep, and we offer a 5-year warranty on our mattress toppers.

Embracing slow design, Join was perfected over time, initially created by Alex Willcock for his family home, Kemps House.
Defined by Alex's skilled craftsmanship, Join's elegant simplicity brings out the inherent beauty of wood. We have partnered with independent master craftspeople to realise his designs at the highest level. Further, Alex has refined the collection for contemporary living with round cut-out handles, smooth sliding drawers, and spacious drawers.
As a result, Alex's holistic sensibility has informed the range's enduring appeal and superb functionality.
We are passionately aware of the link between how things are made, the materials used, and their impact on the people and communities who make them.
Choosing sustainable sources and using natural materials wherever possible throughout our design process of Join is as important to us as respecting the tradition of craft and supporting family-run, local businesses. We continue to look for ways to limit our carbon footprint and our impact on the environment, and so we design and build our furniture with love to last a lifetime.
Handmade from smooth, sustainable wood, this understated rack celebrates the harmonious beauty of nature. Timeless and versatile, Join is crafted from FSC-certified, sustainably grown American white oak and American black walnut. Each piece is finished with a stain-resistant, transparent, matte oil wax. The gentle hues of these natural materials permeate the bedroom, forging a welcoming ambience.
Our white-glove team has specialist experience and manages the delivery process from start to finish. We carefully handle our bespoke and precious items, including the Apollo Pendant Light, and ensure they’re delivered safely to the room of your choice. When your light does arrive, we recommend using a qualified electrician to install or remove this product.
Our shades are made from sustainably sourced British ash that has been hand-selected for quality before being milled to size. Each strip is hand-steamed with only heat and moisture used to shape the wood fibres. This ecological method of manipulating wood avoids the use of chemicals, additives, and glues. Furthermore, every part of the Apollo light’s manufacturing process pays attention to sustainability and efficient materials usage, from the low-waste 3D-printed components to the locally-sourced ash structure.
Each piece is handmade by a steam bending master. This sustainable making process introduces heat to allow timber to become pliable for a short amount of time, enabling the maker to create elegant bent forms and shapes. We have designed each piece to ensure it’s made in the most thoughtful, efficient, and sustainable way.
The centuries-old craft of steam bending inspires every design. This environmentally friendly method gradually exposes the wood to heat, causing it to become malleable for a brief period, allowing the maker to produce attractive bent patterns and shapes.
