We are so thrilled to announce a lovely partnership with Scottish textile artist Hayley McCrirrick. Our shared vision has been to make artwork that sits nicely with all of our most-loved pieces and we believe they do just that.
Running her own studio since 2018, Hayley has a background in printed textile design. Following her experience producing prints, and repeat patterns for industry she decided to pursue her own passions and began producing cushions, purses and bags but realised that she enjoyed making artwork the most. Hayley's inspiration comes from the rural hill scapes of the Scottish countryside around her studio, and as you can see in this lovely video, there is an abundance of shapes and scapes to inspire.
“The Borders known for its rolling hills and walking amongst this landscape was a big part of my childhood,” remarks Hayley. "My studio is set in an old estate on the Scottish border. It’s a converted stable block and the old coach house. The block next to me is still the stables, so my neighbours are actually horses."
Hayley's shared focus on natural materials was a really important link between us and that value carries through to the framing as well. Hayley told us, "when it came to framing, I really wanted something quite special and completely natural. I didn’t want anything moulded or mass-produced, so I work with a local carpenter to make the frames by hand."
